The Password Changing utility for dual authentication

Features

Based on Sga Change Password utility v1.01
Provides a possibility to change passwords on both systems at the same time

Basic operation

Connects to the Authorizer module
Sends the current and the new passwords to change the passwords for the given username
Shows messages about the success of changing

User interface

Parts of the user interface

Input
- Username: the name of the user whose password is being changed
- Old password: the original password (for a new user it is empty)
- New password 1: the new password
- New password 2: re-type the new password
- Apply for:
  - SGA-7N (SS7, HSL, SigTran, ...) : only password of SGA-7N system will be changed
  - SGA-8N (GPRS) : the password in SGA-8N system will be changed
  - SGA-7N + SGA-8N, simultaneously : both password will be changed at the same time
Output of SGA-7N authorization:
- Status field: shows the result of the changing, what can be:
  - Password is set. - The changing was successful.
  - Did not succeed with password setting at 10.117.114.103! - Setting new password was not successful. For more information, please see the Resulted in field.
- Executed at: shows when the last setting attempt was
- Resulted in: in this field the error code of changing can be seen:
  - (0): OK: the setting is succeed
  - (-1): No such username.: given user is non-existing
  - (-2): Such task for this user is not allowed.: user has not the proper right
  - (-3): Bad password: the typed (original) password is invalid
  - (-4): Password is not yet set.: user has not yet set his password. Please, use Change Password utility
  - (-5): Your actual password is too old. Please change it.: The password is expired.
  - (-6): New password cannot be the same as the actual.: The new password is same as the actual.
  - (-7): New password cannot be any of the last 5.: The new password is among the last 5 passwords
  - (-8): Passwords cannot be changed this often.: The oldest password is not older then INI/[Passwords]/dwPasswordListValiditySec. User cannot change his actual password until that period is not expired
  - (-9): Tried too many bad passwords. Login disabled.: User has mistyped his passwords for 5 times. His password needs to be changed.
  - (-10): Use a more recent version of SgaChgPwd utility! : Use the proper version of the Change Password utility
  - (-77) Password changing is not allowed now; retry later!: In the SgaAutho module the changing of passwords is prohibited ([Connections]/Allow remote password changing option is disabled)
  - (-99) Cannot connect to authentication server.: the password changing utility can not connect to the SgaAutho module, because the SgaAutho is not running or the network connection is got wrong or the IP address set by the SgaChgPwd.ini/[Advanced]/sPollerIPAddress is invalid
  - (-99) Failed to receive authentication answer.: the connection of client is not allowed in the SgaAutho module ([Connections]/Allow client to connect option is disabled)
Output of SGA-8N authorization:
- Status field: shows the result of the changing, what can be:
  - Password is set. - The changing was successful.
  - Did not succeed with password setting at 10.244.250.51! - Setting new password was not successful. For more information, please see the Resulted in field.
- Executed at: shows when the last setting attempt was
- Resulted in: error codes can be the same as above

- change the password for user defined above
Exit
- close the application

Requirements for passwords

Passwords must meet the following requirements:

A password must not be the same as the username.
A password's length must be at least 6 characters.
A password must hold at least one digit ([0..9]) between the first and the last characters.
A password must hold at least one small alphabetic character ([a..z]) and one capital ([A..Z]) as well.
A password must be different from the last five ones.

Configuration (`SgaChgPwd2.ini`) file settings

The configuration file is placed in the C:\WinNT or the C:\Windows directory. The module writes this file when it is closed.

	sPollerAddress-8N	10.244.250.51	IP address of the Sga-8N server machine where the `SgaAutho` module is running. (As usual the SgaAutho and the Poller modules are running on the same machine.)
[Authentication]
	sUserName	username	The last used username is stored by this entry.
	byUseSystem	2	Last choice is saved here. '2' means that changing will be applied for both Sga-7N and Sga-8N systems.

(n) Default password retrieved from the operating system (at very first run) is converted to all lowercase.
(n) No default monitoring system is set at very first run.
